Theme Dinners & Parties
Our staff plans several special theme dinners and parties throughout the season for our guests and Colonists. The theme events allow our talented guest services team, maintenance crew, and the kitchen staff to transform the dining room into simulated foreign locations and venues. Adding to the impressive decor, guests enjoy musical entertainment and an assortment of appetizers, entrées, and desserts indigenous to the countries and themes represented. Breakfast Ride & Cookout
The Breakfast Ride & Cookout in Andreas Canyon is a time-honored tradition at Smoke Tree Ranch, and a special treat for everyone. Guests start their morning with donuts, pastries, coffee, and a cowboy crooner on the Ranch House porch, prior to making their way to Andreas Canyon, either by horseback or by joining our Ranch caravan. When we arrive in the canyon, our breakfast consists of a feast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, pancakes with melted butter and hot syrup, fresh orange juice, coffee, hot chocolate, donuts and homemade pastries. Following breakfast, guests may stay in the canyon to hike, or to relax and enjoy the tranquil settings. In Andreas Canyon, you will discover scenic foot trails leading past groves of stately skirted palms, unusual rock formations (some containing Cahuilla rock art), and the perennial Andreas Creek. The Indian Trading Post is located in Palm Canyon.
